Staff

• Maria Striar (Producing Artistic Director, Founder, Vice Chair of Executive Board) Maria helped found Clubbed Thumb in 1996, and has been on its staff since. Up until 2004 she directed and performed in many of the company’s shows. She still performs upon occasion with other downtown companies. Maria conceived and edited 2007’s Funny, Strange, Provocative: Seven Plays from Clubbed Thumb. She received her B.A. from Brown University and her M.F.A. from the University of California, San Diego.

• Diana Maxine Konopka (Associate Director) began working for Clubbed Thumb in the Fall of 2006 after participating in Summerworks ‘06. She joined the staff full time in Fall 2007, as the Associate Produce and in Spring 2009, she assumed the position of Associate Director. Diana has also worked on productions with Target Margin Theater (Associated Artist) and Mile of String, and was a literary intern and dramaturg at the 2005 Williamstown Theatre Festival. Diana received her B.A. from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in Performance Studies from New York University. She was a recipient of a 2007-09 TCG New Generations Mentorship grant.
